Fresno, California (KFSN) — A new veteran-owned business in northwest Fresno is helping former military personnel transition into civilian life.
Veterans can take advantage of several benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
However, most people don’t know about them. Alternatively, the process can be complicated, especially if you apply on your own.
Jeremy De Vault knows this firsthand as a veteran.
“It took years to reach the disability percentage. It took years to get into all these programs and understand the policies and procedures,” he recalls.
With years of experience working in the Department of Veterans Affairs Human Resources, De Vault helps other veterans by ensuring they get the services and benefits they deserve.
“I provide disability education services and teach specific policies to help them get more money to go to school,” he said. It’s called an employment application.”
According to De Vault, he started Blue Cord Veteran Services to support and guide veterans in the process.
“Suppose a veteran suffers from PTSD and the VA continues to deny their disorder. So I am going to help them gather the right evidence, right? ‘ ‘Are you going to put a hole in the wall?'” he explained. “We will gather the evidence and present it.
It’s been less than six months since Blue Cord was born, but De Vault already has customers outside the Central Valley.
