Caola Equipment in Worcester closing after more than 65 years in business

Caola Equipment, which has been selling and repairing outdoor power equipment in central Massachusetts for nearly 70 years, is a company in Worcester that has closed its doors completely.

The outdoor power equipment superstore, which has been a staple of Route 9 for decades, said in a statement posted on its website that as of December 31 last year it would no longer sell, service or announced that it will no longer supply parts. It’s time!

“The decision to close was not an easy one, but the time has come,” the statement said. “Over the past 65+ years, we have enjoyed our relationships with our employees, customers and suppliers. Without you, our success over the years would not have been possible.”

Caola Equipment, located at 391 Park Ave., was scheduled to open with limited hours for equipment pick-up and close-out specials in the showroom. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 8am to 12pm, through Saturday, January 7.

Caola Equipment, an equipment superstore that also offers maintenance, repair and delivery, first opened in 1953 on Route 20 in Shrewsbury before moving to its current larger location in the early 1980s. All the while, the business “stayed in the family and stayed true to its history,” according to the website.

“To this day, Caola Equipment has not changed its ideals about how to run a great business. Family owned and operated for over 55 years, every day Caola Equipment stands out for its friendliness and importance to each customer with great service. It continues to make you feel sexual,” the company’s website says.
