ROCKFORD, IL (WIFR) – At just 22 years old, Javen Rands juggles his love of design and selling homes. Lands is a successful self-taught shoe designer who has been customizing sneakers since 2017.
“A friend suggested I paint on my shoes. It started and it really grew into a business,” Javen said.
As Lands was trying to get his real estate license, one of his clients hooked him up with Frank Werstein, president of Dickerson Neiman Realtors. The relationship evolved into a mentorship, and Rands quickly learned how to run a business.
“He has to be able to come up with concepts and ideas, and it’s the same in the housing business. Business is no different, so that skill set has served him well so far,” says Wehrstein.
With his two worlds intertwined, Javen says he’s taught him that real estate is more productive and efficient.
