WAILUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) – One look at Chris Chou and you instantly know he’s an extraordinary person. Whether it’s his dazzling sneakers, sparkling blazer, or stylish hair, you can tell he’s up to something great.
“I always wanted to be a designer because I wanted to be like Tiff,” Chris said.
Chris’ older sister, Tiffany Chow, is a jewelry designer. Her work has been featured all over the world. After living in New York City for her ten years, she returned to Maui in 2019 to become her brother’s primary caregiver.
“Chris wanted a job in jewelry, so we started our own business,” said Tiffany.
They did pop-ups and started selling his jewelry to visitors from all over the world at local hotels.
“They say they’re so beautiful,” Chris said.
They’ve become so popular that now they’re able to hire people like Chris, people like Nathan and Juna.
“I have seen people with all kinds of disabilities, some very high functioning and some not. Even people with very mild disabilities struggle to find work,” said Tiffany. rice field.
The first physical store will soon open in the center of Wailuku. Look for the ‘Depot Market’ sign off Market Street.
“Chris was adopted from Cambodia and was found at a market called Depot Market,” said Tiffany. “So I thought it was a really special name.”
The Chou brothers hope their business will inspire others and provide opportunities for all.
