Rising from the ashes: Well-known upper Bucks business rebuilds, reopens after fire destroyed shop | Southeastern Pennsylvania

A famous business in upper Bucks County rose from the ashes.

Vanderlely’s Truck Sales and Service in Ottsville was destroyed by fire in 2021, but the determined family business was rebuilt over the next year and a half.

On Saturday, family and friends gathered at the store to watch the ribbons being cut and the doors reopened.

“All our friends and family saw it burn down and there was nothing you could do,” recalls Tom Vanderlely III.

It was August 2021.

The Vanderlely family watched 55 years of work burn up in just a few hours.

“It was a rough night. We couldn’t believe it. We saw all our friends and family burn out with nothing to do,” he said.

But Saturday was a new beginning.

One day per brick.

And with a whole team of people behind them, the Vanderlely family has rebuilt their legacy.

Tom Vanderlely Sr., owner of Vanderlely’s Truck Sales & Service, said:

Back up and running and filled with lots of love.

“Thank you for coming and really standing by us. Never leave.”
