Rockford nonprofit sees ‘Big’ donation, business partnership with local bank


Rockford, IL (WIFR) – Local nonprofits see generous donations and significant business partnerships boosting entrepreneurship in Rockford.

The Midland States Bank has awarded Rockford nonprofit Think Big $20,000 and also offers economic empowerment sessions for community members.

Think Big fosters the development of women and minority-owned businesses through mentorship and networking opportunities such as our annual expo.

“This project is an effective way to invest in the Rockford community and its women- and minority-owned businesses,” commented Martesha Brown, Director of Community Economic Development at Midland States Bank. “We are excited to continue partnering with the organization to invest in the development of entrepreneurs and small businesses.”

Midland is also one of the lead sponsors of the ‘Business to Legit’ 2023 Think Big Expo. The Expo is focused on bringing face-to-face opportunities to women and minority-owned business leaders through networking with Illinois industry professionals.
